To see all your subscriptions on iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. You'll see your active subscriptions and recently expired ones, and you can tap any active subscription to cancel it. If something you pay for isn't on that list, it's probably billed by another company or a different Apple Account.
How to see your subscriptions on iPhone
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the screen.
- Tap Subscriptions. You may be asked to confirm with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Active subscriptions show up first. Expired ones appear below them, which is handy if you're trying to remember what you signed up for last year (you can tap an expired one to renew it if you change your mind).
How to cancel a subscription on iPhone
- Go to Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions.
- Tap the subscription you want to stop.
- Tap Cancel Subscription. You might need to scroll down to find it. If you're on an Apple One bundle, you may see Cancel All Services instead.
- Confirm the cancellation.
If there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red text, Apple says the subscription is already canceled. That expiration date tells you when your access ends.
Checking from other devices
The same subscriptions follow your Apple Account, so you can manage them from anywhere you're signed in:
- On the web: sign in at account.apple.com and open the Subscriptions section.
- On an iPad: same steps as iPhone (Settings, your name, Subscriptions).
- On a Mac: open the App Store, click your name at the bottom of the sidebar, click your name again, then choose Subscriptions.
- On a Windows PC: open the Apple Music or Apple TV app, click your name, choose View My Account, then click Manage next to Subscriptions.
Can't find a subscription? Here's why
This is the most common snag. Your iPhone's list only shows subscriptions billed through Apple, and only for the Apple Account you're signed in to. Here's how Apple suggests tracking down the missing ones:
- Search your email for "receipt from Apple" or "invoice from Apple." The receipt shows which Apple Account was charged.
- If it's another Apple Account you use, sign in to that account and cancel from there.
- If it's a family member's Apple Account, they need to cancel it. You can't cancel a family member's subscription for them.
- If there's no Apple receipt at all, you probably signed up directly with the company, for example on its website. Check your bank or credit card statement to see who's billing you, then cancel with that company.
That last case catches a lot of people. Streaming services, news sites, and fitness apps often let you subscribe on their own site, and those charges won't appear in your iPhone's Subscriptions list even if you use the app every day.
Tips and gotchas
- Deleting the app doesn't cancel anything. The subscription lives in your Apple Account. If you delete the app without canceling, you can keep getting charged.
- Cancel trials at least 24 hours early. Apple's guidance is to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you don't want it to renew.
- Turn on renewal receipts. On the Subscriptions screen, you can turn on Renewal Receipt Emails so you get an email every time a subscription renews. It's an easy way to catch charges you forgot about.
- Review your purchase history. In the App Store, tap your picture, then Apps & Purchase History, then Purchase History. You can filter by date range and type to spot recurring charges.
- Asking for a refund is a separate step. Canceling stops future renewals. If you were charged for something you didn't want, go to reportaproblem.apple.com, choose I'd like to, then Request a refund, pick a reason, and select the subscription. Apple says to expect an update within 24 to 48 hours.
- Check after you cancel. Glance at your next statement to make sure the charge actually stopped.
How Stu will help
Stu is still in development, and finding forgotten subscriptions is one of the main things it's being built to do. Stu will look across your recurring charges, including the ones that never show up in your iPhone's list, and point out the ones you may not be using. It will always ask before canceling anything on your behalf. If that sounds useful, you can join the waitlist.

Common questions
Why can't I see a subscription on my iPhone?
It may be billed by another company, by a family member's Apple Account, or by a different Apple Account you own. Search your email for 'receipt from Apple' or 'invoice from Apple' to see which account was charged, and if there's no Apple receipt, check your bank or card statement to see who bills you.
Does deleting an app cancel the subscription on iPhone?
No. The subscription is tied to your Apple Account, not the app on your phone. Cancel it in Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions.
When should I cancel a free trial on iPhone?
Apple says to cancel a trial at least 24 hours before it ends if you don't want it to renew. Setting a reminder a couple of days early gives you some breathing room.
